The Premier League title race has provided football fans with more than their fair share of drama.
The battle between Manchester City and Liverpool was played out in the dying minutes of the final game of the season, however, one team still had to win which meant the other had to lose.
Luckily for Pep Guardiola’s side, they were the ones crowned champions after coming back from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, making Liverpool’s win over Wolves irrelevant.
Emotions were running high after the game with City jubilant in celebration and the bitter Reds in defeat, a combination which led to a rude exchange between the club legends of the two teams.
Liam Gallagher is undoubtedly one of City’s most vocal supporters and the former Oasis frontman couldn’t resist popping Anfield favorite Jamie Carragher on Twitter.
He said, “What are you saying Carra you, b****nd.”
Riding the bait, the Liverpool legend couldn’t help but hit back at Gallagher with a two-pronged comeback.
“I say you will never win the Champions League and Oasis is s**** compared to the Beatles. This work?”

However, Gallagher wasn’t done yet as he came back once more saying, “Hey Carra you got some s*** jokes for a damn Scouser the [sic] you’ve been hanging out with Neville too long.
“Oasis p*** all over the Beatles how many times did they do Knebworth.”
Perhaps once the dust settles, the two legends can congratulate each other on what has been a breathtaking title race between two impeccable teams.
That said, don’t hold your breath as Gallagher also took aim at Aston Villa manager and former Liverpool player Steven Gerrard, who captained the Reds for many years.
“Gerrard can kiss my ass as well as the bumbaclart his old clubs crush our bus. Champions of the MCFC.
He then followed that up by tweeting “f*** off slippy Gerrard”.
Since the Premier League’s inception in 1992, City have won six titles, beating Chelsea with five and behind Manchester United’s 13.
