Yankees’ Jose Trevino crushes Grand Slam in first spring game at bat

Here are some nuggets from the Yankees’ spring training on Sunday:
Great old times
In his first at bat of the spring, Jose Trevino came with the bases loaded and undoubtedly crushed a grand slam against right-hander Bryce Elder.

No no no
The Yankees tried to throw a no-hitter combined against the Braves but had to settle for a hit after Sam Hilliard knocked out Will Warren in the seventh inning. Atlanta’s roster featured only one expected starter, but five Yankees pitchers combined for 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Caught my attention
Bernie Williams arrived at camp Sunday as a guest coach and spent time chatting with Harrison Bader and Jasson Dominguez, among others, during batting practice on a backfield.

Monday schedule
Luis Severino is scheduled to start the Yankees’ game at 6:35 p.m. against the Tigers at Steinbrenner Field.
