Wordle Today #562 Clues and answer for the Monday, January 2 challenge

It’s been well over a year since wordle was first released to the public in October 2021 by New York software developer Josh Wardle, but the game continues to go from strength to strength. Invented by Wardle during the coronavirus lockdown as a game “for me and my partner to enjoy”, wordle became an online sensation and was later bought by the New York Times for a seven figure sum.

Talk to Newsweek Joel C. Wallenberg, a lecturer in language development at the University of York in the UK, explained why language games are so popular.

He said: “Language always seems to fascinate people. This may be because producing and understanding language is an incredibly complex process, and we are only aware of the smallest part of this process as it unfolds; most of what we do when we speak we do unconsciously, but people may have a feeling that they are doing something very complex and impressive when they speak, even if they don’t know not the specifics or why it should be so.
