SEA CLIFF, Long Island (WABC) – A Long Island woman is under arrest after allegedly administering a COVID vaccine to a teenager without permission.

According to detectives, Laura Parker Russo, 54, injected a 17-year-old boy with what is believed to be a COVID vaccine inside his home in Sea Cliff.

The teenager then returned home and told his mother what had happened. His mother had not given permission or authority for her son to receive the vaccine and immediately called the police.

After an investigation, authorities discovered that Russo is not a medical professional or licensed to administer vaccines.

Russo was subsequently placed under arrest, and is accused of unauthorized practice of a profession.

Russo is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, January 21.
