UFC President White confirmed that the voice behind his biggest PPV events was out of service on Saturday after a streak of 255 consecutive numbered events.

“Buffer got COVID,” he said during the UFC 267 pre-fight press conference.

“He didn’t want to take this trip. He is at home relaxing and recovering from COVID. “

Buffer is the half-brother of legendary boxing announcer Michael and after being his fight manager he moved on to work for the UFC.

When will Bruce Buffer return?

Fortunately, he has already recovered from COVID and will be back on our screens next weekend.

Buffer will resume his announcement duties for the incredible UFC 268 card featured by Kamaru Usman’s rematch with Colby Covington in New York City.

“I just finished my 14 day quarantine and I feel like myself again and will be ready to roar the roof of Madison Square Garden next week,” he told Ariel Helwani.

“My streak of over 24 years is over, but I doubt it will ever be beaten. Like Dana said, it would take a bullet to keep me out of the Octagon, but COVID got me first. “

Who is Bruce Buffer’s replacement at UFC 267?

Joe Martinez, who typically announces UFC Fight Night cards and small events for the promotion, will fill the hotseat on Saturday for just one night.

The 46-year-old’s first appearance under Dana White was in December 2012 to cover Buffer who was not available for The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale.

Martinez paid tribute to Buffer when he took the reins in an interview at the time, as he put it Launderer report: “All my respect goes to Bruce; this is his gig, and I’m just more than happy to step in and fill a part for a night.

“The opportunity is there and I’m happy to be the one they asked for.

“I’m usually not nervous when holding a microphone, but I think I’ll be a little nervous for this one and hope I can hide it.”
