Three days before the first round of the presidential election, more than half of French people have not received the candidates’ professions of faith in their mailbox. However, the Ministry of the Interior and the company responsible for distribution want to be reassuring: everyone should receive the programs on time.
Are there delays in the distribution of professions of faith? Many French people have still not received the electoral propaganda and are asking themselves the question three days before the first round of the presidential election. A question that is all the more legitimate in view of the dysfunctions observed last year during the regional and departmental elections. But despite appearances and the timing which is starting to become very tight, the failures of 2021 should be avoided this year.
Distribution returns to La Poste
The Ministry of the Interior has indeed broken the contract with the private company responsible for these “hiccups”, and it is La Poste, the incumbent operator, who is now responsible for distributing all of what is called propaganda. electoral. And the latter assures him, the calendar is perfectly respected this year.
In detail, the prefectures had until Wednesday evening to organize the envelopes, before sending the professions of faith. Postmen then have until Saturday, the day before the ballot, to send them to the mailboxes of all French people.
45% of programs sent
On Wednesday, the Ministry of the Interior took stock of the progress of the distribution: nearly 22 million letters had been sent, or 45% of the total. More than half of the French have therefore received nothing at this stage but should in all likelihood be able to read the professions of faith before going to vote on Sunday.
