Ahead of the start of the new season – which Pep Guardiola’s side are favorites to win the Premier League title again – watch them debate whether Liverpool or City have the advantage in several different areas.

You’d expect some bias from two former opposition players, but the two were surprisingly in agreement on a number of key areas.

Who had the best transfer window?

Man City received votes from both players in this round.

Johnson explained: “The City team are fantastic anyway, you go in there and put arguably one of the best strikers in the world into that equation, I think he’s a fantastic signing.”

Dunne agreed: “Haaland for £50m is amazing and Kalvin Phillips for, I think, £40m, is a great price. Julian Alvarez, the centre-forward they got from South America, is a kind of Craig Bellamy; quick death, work really hard.

“With these players, they replaced people like [Gabriel] Jesus, [Oleksandr] Zinchenko and [Raheem] Sterling.”

What is the biggest club?

Liverpool emerged victorious in resounding fashion.

The former City defender said: “Man City are a growing team, they have a growing fan base, but Liverpool are a monster club.”

Johnson added: “They won trophies before we were born. This story is that piece that you cannot replace at this time.

But they agreed City would dominate the most over the next decade, so it all depends on the future for Citizen fans.

Who will win the Premier League?

Manchester City appear to be favored in all bets and even have a chance of winning the 2022/23 season.

And even the ex-Liverpool player believes he will win the league, with Dunne also choosing blue.

Johnson reluctantly admitted, “It pains me to say, world-class manager, world-class signings, world-class team.”

Manchester City are 8/11 to win the league while Liverpool are 9/4 with Betway.
