“White MAGA Bigoted Southerners” like Herschel Walker because he’s dumb

The Nation justice correspondent Elie Mystal said on SiriusXM’s “The Dean Obeidallah Show” on Wednesday that “white MAGA, bigoted southerners” like Herschel Walker, a GOP U.S. Senate candidate from Georgia, because he was “stupid”.

Obeidallah said: “Okay. As Herschel Walker talks about the debate with Senator Warnock. He actually gave us the date of October 14. He likes to pimp the date there to make it exciting for people. So , what’s the game here in our last 2 minutes? Herschel Walker really lowered the bar, the guy that won the Heisman that got the Pro Bowl in the NFL. You gotta learn a lot of games to do that. You gotta do that. know a lot. It’s not a game.”

Mystal said, “’I’m just a senatorial candidate from a poor country who isn’t very smart and doesn’t know much about a lot of things. But what I do know is that I would have to be your senator to be able to represent you in Congress, even though I don’t know what a nice suit would know because apparently suits have brains now. I don’t know a lot of things, but I know I should be your senator so I can vote just like Mitch McConnell tells me to vote. Because I just told you that I’m too stupid to find out for myself! That’s the game plan.

He added: “And he does two things well. It’s an obvious, old-school kind of lower expectations. As long as he doesn’t drool, or even if he drools, as long as he doesn’t trip over his own drool, he’ll be like, oh, Walker exceeded expectations. Right? So that’s just part of his media horse racing game. But the other thing is to remind these white, bigoted Southern MAGAs that, ‘Don’t worry, they’re not electing a black man who’s going to be able to think for himself, that he’s too stupid to do other than voting the way his white superiors tell him to vote. Two things with a stupid press conference.
