Thursday, April 7, three days before the first round of the presidential election, the 13 Hours campaign presents the candidates’ proposals on the price of energy.
The rise in energy prices is at the heart of the presidential campaign, Thursday, April 7. Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI) thus plans to block a liter of fuel at 1.40 euros. Éric Zemmour (Reconquête) also wants to block this price, but at 1.80 euros per litre. Others propose lowering fuel taxes, from 20% to 5.5% for Marine Le Pen (RN). Nathalie Arthaud (LO) suggests that workers no longer pay tax on gasoline and diesel, but that they be compensated by the profits of the oil companies.
Fabien Roussel (PCF) defends, meanwhile, a limitation of VAT. Anne Hidalgo (PS) wishes, for her part, to reduce VAT on energy, only for individuals. Emmanuel Macrom (LREM) and Valérie Pécresse (LR) do not want to lower taxes. Finally, Yannick Jadot (EELV) wants to create an energy check of 400 euros per year for fuel or heating.
