“Wars for democracy always undo democracy in the process”

Tucker Carlson blasted the establishment narrative that US support for the war effort in Ukraine is about ‘democracy’ and claimed that ‘wars for democracy always undo democracy in the process’, when of the latest episode of his show on Twitter.
In a episode Titled “Irony Alert: War for Democracy Allows Dictatorship,” Carlson aired several clips of politicians like Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Mike McCaul (R- TX), who claimed that to support Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukraine in the fight against Russia is to defend “democracy”.

“As Pelosi says, the people of Ukraine are fighting for their democracy, and for ours as well. This is also true for ours. Without Ukrainian democracy, in other words, we cannot have democracy here,” Carlson said. “If Ukrainians aren’t free, neither are we. We have to make sure they can vote in Kyiv. So we can continue to vote in Kansas City.
However, Carlson pointed out that Zelensky had just announced that elections would only be held in his county if they won the war against Russia.
“Will there be elections in Ukraine next year? A reporter asked Zelensky in a clip Carlson played on his show.
“It’s a global question. If we win, there will be,” Zelensky replied, according to the captions of the video. “Thus, there will be no time of war (martial law), no war. Elections must be held in peacetime, when there is no war, according to law.
“Your job is to obey or be punished. This is our version of self-government. Me means me, I am the government. This is not just any autocrat. This is our main ally in the war for democracy,” Carlson said. “Is this the guy who just announced he’s likely to cancel next year’s election?
Carlson said the clip he played of Zelensky “blew away our entire justification for supporting his side in the war,” then he played a clip of President Joe Biden on Monday doubling down on his administration’s support for “the defense of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity”. .”
carlson added:
So to recap, we are currently waging a war for democracy on behalf of a leader who just casually announced that he is happy to end democracy, and our leaders who support democracy have no problem with that ; in fact, they are strongly for it. Shocked? You shouldn’t be here, of course, for that. You should have seen it coming. Wars For Democracy always undoes democracy in the process. That’s why our leaders love them.
Carlson also drew attention to Ukraine’s arrest of American journalist Gonzalo Lira and criticized Biden for not advocating for Lira’s release.
“So in a war for democracy, you can do anything. Imagine what a man with less principles could do? If this man, say, ruled Ukraine, he could stop arresting the priests of the Church, ban any criticism of himself, make his political opponents disappear. And it happens,” Carlson said. “Last month, Zelenskyy jailed indefinitely a man named Gonzalo Lira for the crime of daring to write about the Ukrainian government in an unflattering way.”
Biden “…could have freed Gonzalo Lira within hours. But he did not do it. He did not want. He didn’t say a word. He remains in jail tonight,” Carlson noted.
carlson continued:
When normal people see war, they see death and destruction, sadness and suffering. But that’s not what demagogues see. They understand this differently. They know that war means power, especially for them. In times of war, anything they do can be justified. War is the gravest of all emergencies. Imagine COVID lockdowns times over 1000 drones. Once war breaks out, politicians become gods with the power of life and death. So in a peaceful democracy you have to debate your political opponents in public, and that’s tedious, but in a war for democracy you can just throw them in jail or have them executed. You can see that many in Washington are looking forward to this moment.
The former Fox News host went on to discuss the latest revelations from IRS whistleblowers that showed Biden being in the same room as his son Hunter while the young Biden sent a message to his CCP-linked Chinese business affiliate.
Carlson slammed the media for portraying Hunter Biden’s story as one of “fatherly love.”
“As much as anything that has been reported on the Bidens over the past few years, it was the smoking gun. It’s right there in the message,” Carlson said. “That would have been enough to cripple a normal president. That would have been more than enough to keep a normal president from running for office again, but had virtually no effect on Joe Biden.
