Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has hit back at a reporter who asked him about the third anniversary of teammate Klay Thompson’s ACL injury in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Thompson’s return trip from the ACL injury and later Achilles injury in that year’s Finals was one of the most significant storylines in the series against the Boston Celtics. But on Sunday, as the Warriors prepared for a deciding Game 5, Green didn’t want to hear anything about it.

“It’s useless. We’re here right now. There’s no need to talk about something unfortunate that happened three years ago. We’re here right now, we’re going to stay right now , we’re going to think positive thoughts, and we’re going to move forward,” Green said.

“It was great to see where he is and what level he is back at. But we don’t need to talk about moments we don’t want to relive three years ago.”

Thompson was also asked about the injury in 2019. He didn’t return to court until January. He told reporters he was just trying to stay present and not look too far ahead.

WARRIORS’ KLAY THOMPSON FOCUSED ON THE PRESENT Amid ACL TEAR ANNIVERSARY: ‘I JUST WANT TO WIN FRIGGING’

“The NBA Finals are such a cool thing to be at. I remember being in Istanbul, Turkey in 2013 doing NBA stuff and getting up early to watch it, three or four in the morning. Realizing that these games are broadcast around the world, it reminds you how special that really is,” Thompson said, via NBC Sports Bay Area.

Thompson said he would think about the lasting memory of that Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, “maybe for a second,” but made it clear he just wanted to win.
