BRENTWOOD, TN (WSMV) – In the midst of a global pandemic, a local veteran has made it his business to continue giving back to other veterans by starting a fishing business.

In September 2020, John Lopiccolo started Kane Fishing Gear, a business that shares profits with other veterans locally and in multiple states.

“I’m a wounded veteran and wanted to give back to wounded veterans who needed more than me,” Lopiccolo said. “A lot of times injured veterans suffer physical injuries, but also mental injuries.”

Proceeds from product sales then help Operation Tackle Box from Georgia. Lopiccolo also makes time to take trips with veterans to help them deal with PTSD and any other struggles they may be going through.
