A video, widely relayed on social networks, shows an altercation in a bus in Belgium which leaves a woman with a bloody face. An accusation of racism could be at the origin of the brawl between the travelers.
The shocking images of a violent altercation on a bus in Belgium were relayed on social networks. The video (Warning: the video in question may offend the sensitivity) which has aroused many reactions shows a violent dispute between travelers on a bus link between the center of Antwerp and Oeleghem, on October 27. It ends with the bloody face of a woman who fell off the bus. The sequence being truncated, it is however difficult to understand the causes and the precise circumstances of the brawl between the travelers.
However, we can hear laughter, cries, especially of a baby and an individual shouting: “Racist!” in Flemish. According to the Belgian media, the 57-year-old woman would then have answered also in Flemish: “I am not racist, he hits me.”
Filming the woman off the bus, bloodied and on the ground on the sidewalk after the quarrel, the alleged perpetrator then reportedly said: “She was kicked off the bus. She said “Moroccan cancer” and look what happens to her. “
Contacted by the Flemish daily Het Laatste Nieuws on October 28, the Antwerp police would still be investigating: “We received this clip last night, it’s an edited version of what happened. In such incidents, it is not immediately clear who did what. Therefore, we are conducting a survey with the use of all images. ”
Police have reportedly identified a 36-year-old woman among the suspects. However, she was released after questioning. Always after Het Laatste Nieuws, the victim whose condition is worrying would indeed have had a serious fall, probably after being pushed, causing him a deep injury to the head.
