Marceline and Céline took over goat breeding and cheese production from a couple who were retiring. Anthony bought out a farmer’s shares in a dairy farm. In “Special Envoy”, they recount their installation and the handover between their elders and them.

Like Marceline and Céline, who took over goat farming and cheese production from a couple who were retiring to Ardèche, the dream of a lifetime. Anthony, 23, son of a nurse and a caregiver, has meanwhile bought the shares of a farmer in a 150-hectare dairy farm in Cantal.

By 2030, more than half of French farmers will retire

All three tell us about their installation and the handover between them and their elders. With these new faces, agriculture is changing profoundly. A phenomenon that will accelerate with the retirement of more than half of operators by 2030.

A report by Kristian Autain, Francis Simoes, Benjamin Poulain and Raynald Lellouche rebroadcast in “Special Envoy” on May 19, 2022.
