VIDEO. My second life as a teacher

Like 10,000 French people each year, Fabienne, Céline and Geoffroy have changed their lives to become teachers. New teachers driven by a project that has given meaning to their lives.

Fabienne, 58, was a lawyer, she is now a professor of economics and social sciences in the Basque country; at 42 years old, Céline finished the school of the masters before integrating a nursery school in Brittany; Geoffroy teaches English in a private high school in the suburbs after having been an executive in large international companies. All three left comfortable jobs to teach. “Special Envoy” followed them at the beginning of their new life.

A boon for a sector struggling to recruit

Like 10,000 French people each year, they have changed their lives to embrace this career that others give up or do not want to do. Against the current of disillusioned discourse on the profession, they are a boon for this sector which is struggling to recruit. New motivated teachers, driven by a project that has given meaning to their lives.

A report by Lise Thomas-Richard / Kraken Films, broadcast in “Special Envoy” on May 19, 2022.
