University of Chicago cop injured gunman in shooting, report says

A man was injured in a shootout with a University of Chicago police officer, reports say.
The shooting happened just after 11:40 a.m. near Woodlawn Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard, the Chicago Fire Department told Fox affiliate WFLD-TV.

A man was reportedly shot dead by a University of Chicago police officer on Tuesday.

Fox News contacted the fire department, the university and its police department. The Chicago Police Department referred the questions to the university.
The injured man was reportedly shot multiple times and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The University of Chicago in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.
He was listed in critical condition. Details about what led up to the shooting were not disclosed.
