JACKSON COUNTY, MO (KCTV) – A miners’ party on Halloween has turned violent. A teenager was seriously injured.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of the fight on its Facebook page in hopes of obtaining advice or more video evidence.

It shows a teenager hit and thrown to the ground by one person, then struck to the ground by several others. Authorities say the victim was a minor and the attackers included both adults and minors. The attackers, the post said, showed up at the party uninvited at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

The sheriff’s office said this happened on the street in front of the house where the minors’ party was taking place in a housing estate in Colbern Road and Jacob Lane. It sits on the edge of Lee’s Summit, near Lake Jacomo.

“The minors involved are believed to be from the Blue Springs area and attend the Blue Springs School District,” the sheriff’s office read.

Initially, the sheriff’s office included not only video of the scuffle, but also a photo of two people involved whom they sought to identify. Within hours, the photo was deleted with an update saying they had identified the couple through the help of those who saw the post.

The sheriff’s office did not say whether the parents were at home in the house where the party was taking place or what type of charges were being considered.

They ask anyone with a video or additional information to contact Detective Cox at 816-541-8017 ext. 72231 is now with you on the go! Get the latest updates and videos, StormTrack5 weather forecast, weather radar, special investigation reports, sports headlines and more from KCTV5 News.
