Aspinall, one of the top heavyweights, will headline Marcin Tybura, in his first fight after suffering a horrific knee injury when he fought Curtis Blaydes at the same venue, same date, Last year.

McCann will be looking to bounce back after his three-fight winning streak was snapped by top flyweight prospect Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281 in November.

On Wednesday, UFC stars joined Laura Woods and Gabby Agbonlahor for talkSPORT Breakfast and explained why MMA is going strong while boxing is struggling.

“I feel like, especially in this country now, there are a lot of fighters that the fans can relate to. MMA fighters are very outspoken, and we’ll let you know and take you on the journey with us,” McCann said.

“There is nowhere to hide in the Octagon. You cannot take a lap. You can’t bring in a mate because there’s no such thing in the UFC.

“I don’t think that’s the case, I’d even go so far as to say, [as] corrupt. You don’t make horrible decisions every weekend. Obviously every once in a while if you’re going to use a different commission and they have a different way of scoring the fight, if you’re not educated about it and choose to fight a different style then sometimes it’s not okay not go your way.

“I feel like everyone is really honest when they come in and look for a finish. As soon as someone enters the cage, it’s not for a point.

“Nobody cares about having a spotless record. If you look at any of us, most people in the UFC have three, five, six losses under their belt, and most people have won a world title in another promotion before coming to the UFC.”

Aspinall, who is a former sparring partner of Tyson Fury, agreed with his UFC colleague and pointed to matchmaking as one of the main reasons fans turn to MMA over sport. boxing.

“I’ll just be honest, I absolutely hate the boxing model right now,” he added.

“I love boxing. I love the science and the sport of boxing, but in the last few years, what is boxing?

“You can look at a map and you pick the winner immediately on the map. You have 12 fights and immediately looking at the map you can pick the winners.

“The zero is protected. What happened to the 50/50 fights? You’re talking about guys going 20-0 and they haven’t even really fought yet. They’re protecting the zero. They’re protecting the undefeated record. C is very strange.

“I think that’s why people are so drawn to the UFC because from the second you sign that UFC contract, it’s a 50/50 fight, right off the bat.

“If you’re 3-0, even before the UFC, you’re fighting another guy who’s 4-1, 5-2 or another guy who’s 3-0. You’re not 3-0 against 1-27 .

“What is it? It’s pathetic.”
