Udaipur tailor beheaded for social media post allegedly supporting Nupur Sharma

Udaipur in Rajasthan has become a flashpoint after the gruesome murder of a tailor, allegedly after he posted social media posts in support of Nupur Sharma, who was suspended from the BJP for making remarks against the Prophet Muhammad.

The tailor, who media identified as Kanhaiya Lal, was beheaded in broad daylight for a series of inflammatory social media posts, according to reports.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has called the incident shameful and is asking people to refrain from sharing videos of the incident. The video went viral after it was tweeted by BJP National Youth Secretary Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, who said in the post that “Hindus are not safe in Rajasthan”.

“Strict action will be taken against all criminals involved in this incident and the police will get to the bottom of it. I call on all parties to keep the peace,” Gehlot quoted NDTV as saying.

According to the NDTV report, the murdered tailor was recently questioned by police over inflammatory messages.
