Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte is one of Britain’s biggest fights

Simon Jordan was unimpressed with the pay-per-view price of Tyson Fury’s world heavyweight title clash with Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium.

The rival British stars will face off in London on Saturday April 23 in front of a packed crowd of around 94,000.

For those unable to secure a ticket, the competition will be available for purchase, priced at £24.95 for UK customers.

However, it will be live and exclusive on talkSPORT – and won’t cost you a dime either!

With Anthony Cacace vs. Jonathan Romero, Tommy Fury vs. Daniel Bocianski and Isaac Lowe vs. Nick Ball all making the undercard, Jordan suggested fans deserve more for their money given the amount they are charged to watch boxing from at night at home.

This is despite Whyte vs Fury being one of the biggest all-British fights in history and one of the most highly anticipated fights of recent times.

Jordan told White and Jordan, “I think it’s a bit of a freedom.

“I think if you paid more for the fight than maybe you wanted to, you have to get some money back somewhere.

“It’s the trend in all promotions. Just the other day we put Ben [Shalom] to task and said it wasn’t a good enough undercard.

“No disrespect to any of these fighters on the undercard because they are all decent fighters, but for a world heavyweight title fight there has to be a little more stardust.

“You can argue that a world heavyweight title fight is a premium, but if you’re going to price it above the price of £19 or £20, I know you can argue that they price it. a lot more in America, but I don’t care what they do there, we do it here.

“If you’re going to charge £24.95 because you need to get another £2-3m back, but if you’re going to put an extra five cents on a fight that’s going to sell maybe a million pay-per-views, then really and really, that’s £5m in extra revenue that should end up in the undercard.

“I don’t know the availability of the boxers and when Anthony Yarde just beat Lyndon Arthur, or if they could have brought someone else out and into the mix, but with all due respect, you expect more in front of 94,000 .

“When Carl Froch fought you had Anthony Joshua on the undercard. It was early in his career, but he was already a rockstar.

This view was echoed by Spencer Oliver who says such a big night of boxing deserves “chief support”.

Oliver said: “I would expect a world title fight to be chief support. Whether it’s a smallerweight, welterweight or whatever, I would expect a world title fight to be a mainstay for a fight of this magnitude with the crowd that they attract.

“Franc [Warren]has a strong stable. I don’t know what kind of deal they have with Tyson Fury, does he make the decisions with who they have on the undercard?

“It’s a little more political than we probably realize, but I just think if you’re selling a fight of this magnitude you need decent support.

“I’ve always felt that and believe a world title fight should be out there.”
