Former President Donald Trump has once again created tension within Trumpworld following a recent campaign endorsement.

This time, Trump’s endorsement of Alabama Senate hopeful Katie Britt has angered his allies, after the ex-president withdrew his endorsement of Britt’s main challenger, the GOP Rep. , Mo Brooks.

“Katie Britt, on the other hand, is a fearless premiere American warrior,” Trump wrote in a statement late Friday. “Katie is an incredible fighter for the people of Alabama.”

Mo Brooks barely hangs on to make second round with Katie Britt in Alabama Senate race

Still, that endorsement didn’t leave all of Trumpworld ready to back Britt.

“That’s a punch,” Fox News host Mark Levin wrote on Trump’s Truth Social platform. “Very disappointing. Britt is a RINO supported by McConnell and lauded by the leader of the Alabama Democratic Party. I hope Mo [Brooks] can remove it. Lord knows we need his conservative voice and vote in the Senate.

The Fox News host would later double down, calling Britt “disasterwhile citing a Breitbart article that alleges the now Trump-backed nominee “surrounds herself” with “never Trumpers.”

Similarly, former Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson shared the same article while blasting Trump, writing, “That Katie Britt? Of course he did.

These Ultra-MAGA Candidates Found That Loving Trump Isn’t a Golden Ticket

It didn’t stop there.

Pro-Trump writer Ryan Girdusky responded to Trump’s endorsement, Tweeter“Oh fuck you. Mo is the one.

A spokesperson for the Britt campaign did not respond to The Daily Beast’s request for comment on Sunday afternoon.

As part of Trump’s endorsement of Britt on Friday night, the former president acknowledged criticism from hardcore Republicans of MAGA.

“The opposition say Katie is close to Mitch McConnell, but in fact she’s not – in fact they think McConnell put Mike Durant in the running to stop her, which is most likely true” , Trump said of Durant, an Army veteran. , who finished third in the initial primary race.

Britt’s endorsement comes at a critical time for both campaigns. The second round of the primaries takes place in less than two weeks after none of the candidates was able to obtain 50% of the vote during the race for the primaries.

In April 2021, Trump endorsed Brooks, only to revoke the endorsement after Brooks urged Trump supporters to back down from claims that the 2020 election was “stolen”.

In his statement on Friday, Trump accused Brooks, whom Britt is running as the Republican establishment nominee, of “waking up” at his rally in Cullman, Alabama.

“Instead of exposing voter fraud in the election, Mo lectured the crowd of 63,000 by saying, ‘Put this behind you, put this behind you,’ which basically means forget the rigged election and move on to the future,” Trump fumed. “His words made me withdraw my endorsement, and Mo has wanted it back ever since, but I can’t give it to him!”

Since Trump’s statement, Brooks has hit back, saying Trump was “duped” by establishment Republican types, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“It’s weird: The last time Donald Trump talked about Katie Britt, he said she didn’t qualify for the Senate,” Brooks said. “Donald Trump is the only American politician who could be had by Mitch McConnell twice in a race for the Alabama Senate.”

This isn’t the first time that Trumpworld has pushed back hard against a Mar-a-Lago endorsement.

After Trump backed Dr Mehmet Oz, Trumpworld allies have crumbled over the former president backing the Turkish-American TV star.

“Wait,” said a pro-Trump pundit. “Is there anything conservative about Dr. Oz?”
