Trump voters can’t admit they’re ‘activating a monster’

Attorney George Conway said on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” on Tuesday that he believes former President Donald Trump’s supporters cannot admit that he might be guilty of sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, because then they “would have to admit that they were basically endorsing and allowing a freak.

Cooper asked, “Do you think the verdict plays a role in how he performs in the campaign for the nomination? Do you think it affects that?

Conway said: “Like everything else involving Donald Trump, it goes both ways. I think the people who support it, they’ll just dismiss it as a litigation driven conspiracy, or me, or you, or CNN, or Jean Carroll, or Jean Carroll’s lawyers. Another attempt to get Donald Trump. And they never really wonder, wait a minute, how is it possible that one person gets into so many scratches and so many people say the same thing about them, about their dishonesty, their lie and its sexual predation, and never ask themselves, is there something to it? Because they can’t do that. They can’t bring themselves to do this. If they do, they have to admit that they basically approved and enabled a monster.
