Trump repeated at a campaign rally in Michigan on Saturday that he won the state’s ‘Man of the Year’ award years ago, though no such award has been uncovered. .

Detroit News, which maintains a list called “Michiganians of the Year,” confirmed that Trump never won his award.

The Michigan Chamber of Commerce confirmed to Snopes that it also does not award “Man of the Year.”

Former GOP congressman Dave Trott says the claim can be traced to a 2013 event where Trump received a framed version of the Gettysburg speech, but no ‘Man of the Year’ award there. was awarded either.
