To Mirmande (Drome)the lack of staff is calling out facing the influx of tourists that the city will welcome this summer. A recruitment day was therefore organised.
One of the most beautiful villages in France, Mirmande (Drome), is a marvel of the Rhone Valley. An eminently touristic place, it welcomes many visitors from Thursday May 26 for the Ascension weekend. For the patrons of the city’s hotels, cafes or restaurants, this Ascension Day marks the start of the summer season. A summer that looks good since reservations are full.
However, for these hoteliers and restaurateurs, it is very difficult to recruit staff. For Sylvain, restaurateur, it is a real way of the cross to find the right candidates: “They want to work, but they want rest, to be able to go out a bit in the evening, to have at least two days off.” But the restaurateur has more than one trick up his sleeve and has found a solution: “We are trying to adapt, have a few more people and make small contracts.” In a neighboring village, the recruitment problem is the same, a restaurant has even had to reduce its reception capacity. In all, eight out of ten hotels or restaurants lack staff in the Drôme.
