For tourism professionals, the return of European vacationers, but also and especially Americans, is welcome. It has been two years since Americans have been unable to travel and therefore stay in France, with the Covid.
The Americans came looking for typical Paris, like at Bouillon Chartier. American tourists are back in the capital. Jill Frieze only dreamed of one thing: to eat beef bourguignon and snails. “A long time ago I ate snails and it’s really good”, says the Californian tourist. Above all, she is looking for souvenirs to bring back to her country. “There are so many stories around you, it’s a great place to take pictures”she believes.
Since the beginning of the year, nearly 400,000 Americans have come from the United States. A number almost equivalent to the period before the Covid. Their passion for Paris remains unchanged. The Eiffel Tower is one of the most visited monuments in France. “It’s great that the heritage has been preserved, it’s not something you do in the United States”, reports a tourist. The return of Americans is good news for the tourism sector.
