Tottenham fans demand ‘Daniel Levy out of our club’, boo full time and target Emerson Royal in nightmarish New Year’s Eve loss to Aston Villa
Tottenham fans expressed their fury with full-time boos after a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa where they also targeted Daniel Levy and Emerson Royal.
Second-half goals from Emi Buendia and Douglas Luiz meant Spurs started 2023 in the worst possible way with a lackluster display where Villa managed double their shot tally.
Boos rained down when referee John Brooks whistled full-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the fans were clearly at their limit in a frustrating season.
Antonio Conte’s side have been relying on comebacks as they continue to give up early runs, Villa being the seventh consecutive league game they have conceded the first.
And while it was a fun watch for the neutrals, the home support may have had enough and directed their anger at Chairman Levy.
“Daniel Levy, get out of our club” was chanted by sections of the crowd after Tottenham were torn apart by a brilliant move from Luiz and John McGinn to end the game in the 73rd minute.
And to add to the misery of the crowd, summer signing Emerson Royal was introduced soon after and also received a chorus of boos.
talkSPORT reporter Jake Robson was at the game and said: “It was the full-time whistle that was blown all around the stadium.

“Brilliant from Aston Villa in what can only be described as a New Year’s nightmare in North London for Tottenham, they barely put a glove on Villa this afternoon.”
Spurs’ fifth defeat of the league season came after their return from the World Cup and showed that little had changed after a month-long break.
Going down 2-0 at Brentford on Boxing Day, the north London side again had to stage a comeback to take a point, with late heroics aging fast for the fans.
