What started as Charles Oliveira was losing weight became a heated public argument between Tony Ferguson and Daniel Cormier.
Ferguson, like Oliveira, competed at UFC 274 last weekend and Cormier commented on the event.

Oliveira was visibly upset by the weigh-in results
While Oliveira picked up an impressive submission victory over Justin Gaethje in the main event, Ferguson was sadly at the end of what Dana White called “the most vicious knockout” he had ever seen of Michael Chandler.
Although Oliveira won in the main event, he was stripped of his title the day before the event for missing weight by 0.5 lbs.
Controversy brought the Cormier incident back on the scales in the public mind five years ago.
Prior to UFC 210, there were suggestions that Cormier was holding the towel in order to make weight for his fight.

Ferguson was floored by Chandler with a front kick
Ferguson took aim at Cormier after dust settled on UFC 274:.
How not to weight ladies and gentlemen,” Ferguson wrote, along with a photo of Cormier weighing in.
“I should have stripped him down like they did with Charles Oliveira. Kudos to everyone who does it right and keeps the sport clean.
“Tony, please stop,” Cormier replied. “Go sit down for a bit, put your head in a hole somewhere. Regroup man, recover spend time with your family. Like just please stop! I implore you. This is not beautiful. As if you made me sad.

Then things kicked into high gear. Ferguson went on to imply that Cormier is a retired cocaine user and DC didn’t like that too much.
“Lay Off The Yay Buddy,” Ferguson tweeted. “Not a good look, you make yourself look sad. I’m already back at work. I can’t stop like you. Enjoy your retirement with Fathead.
“Fathead” Ferguson is referring to is Cormier’s former American Kickboxing Academy teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov. F
Erguson and the Russian were expected to fight no less than five times, but it never happened due to various reasons and withdrawals.

Cormer warned Ferguson to be careful not to imply that he is a drug addict before asking why Ferguson has such a problem with him anyway.
“Okay Tony, now you’ve reached,” Cormier began. Are you saying I take cocaine? I’m so confused right now. I don’t know why you’re mad at me. Take Michael Chandler, he’s the one who kicked you in the face, not me.
Cormier left MMA after completing his trilogy with Stipe Miocic in 2020.
Cormier is one of only four athletes to hold double champion status in UFC history, as he held both lightweight and heavyweight gold.
Cormier doesn’t understand what he did to upset Ferguson
His feud with Jon Jones is also one of the most storied rivalries the promotion has ever seen.
Ferguson is still competing, but he has now lost his last four fights.
He had won 12 straight lightweight fights at one point and even the interim lightweight title, but the 38-year-old stock has fallen dramatically over the past few years.
