The boost is not too much. In the face of galloping inflation, the ggovernment has provided, in the purchasing power law, for the creation of a exceptional back-to-school bonus. This aid, which is paid on Thursday, September 15, is to be distinguished from the traditional back-to-school allowance (ARS) already distributed in August to families subject to means testing. Franceinfo returns to this new device in three questions.

1Who is affected by this aid?

Some 10.8 million households will be able to benefit from this boost. This concerns people receiving social minima such as the active solidarity income (RSA), the allowance for disabled adults (AAH) and the solidarity allowance for the elderly (Aspa), but also recipients of housing aid (APL , ALF, ALS), people receiving the activity bonus and scholarship students.

2What is the amount?

This aid is 100 euros, to which are added 50 euros per dependent child, with no limit on the number of children. On the other hand, for households receiving the activity bonus, the amount is 28 euros, to which are added 14 euros per dependent child, and the payment will only take place in mid-November, according to the service site. The activity bonus was increased by 4% on July 1.

3How to benefit from it?

No steps to take : eligible people will receive the exceptional aid automatically. The payment will be made by the body responsible for your benefits and allowances. For job seekers, Pôle emploi takes care of the payment. For RSA or APL beneficiaries, the aid will be paid by the family allowance funds. For scholarship students, it will be the Crous.
