Substitute Matej Vydra struck late to nullify Kai Havertz’s goal which seemed to secure a seventh all-round win for the league leaders.
Tuchel insisted the visitors had the chance to get something out of the game.
He said Burnley was “Very lucky, but that’s football. Did we have the chance in the first of those seven games to come out with a clean sheet against Brentford? Yes we were.
“So of course they were lucky, but that’s why everyone loves the game because you can win games like this.”
And Tuchel refused to be overly critical of his players, even though they saw them drop two points from a game they dominated.
He added, “I stay with my feelings aside. I have proof from the data we have now that we had a fantastic game. I liked the attitude, I liked the intensity and the levels of focus.
“This is our seventh game in a row, we’ve come from away games, Champions League games, and playing a team like Burnley who still believes, puts long balls in and out of the box, and we keep them out of the way and keep them level.
“We got the first and second balls, did such an invisible job as a team to control a game like this. We created so many chances that it was a fantastic effort and a fantastic performance.
“So I’m super happy. It can happen in football, sometimes unfortunately like today, that someone else steals points and gets lucky.
“Like I said, we were lucky to come away with a clean sheet from Brentford and we were unlucky today to get the result. Sometimes it happens. “
