Two would-be thieves punched a 12-year-old boy in the head and broke into his Brooklyn home on Friday night – but were turned away empty-handed after screaming for help, cops said.

The men dressed in white construction helmets, yellow shirts and white masks entered the building near 61st Street and Sixth Avenue in Sunset Park around 8 p.m. through an unlocked door, police said.

One of the men then rang the doorbell of the victim. When he opened the door, one of the robbers came in and “hit the victim in the neck from behind with an unknown object,” cops said. The thieves also attempted to place duct tape over his mouth.

But the victim screamed for help, and the two men fled the apartment and drove off in a gray Nissan, cops said. Nothing was taken from the apartment.

Police have released surveillance video which shows the men entering and then quickly leaving the apartment.

The victim was treated by EMS for bruises on his neck.

The attempted home invasions were described as two males between the ages of around 25 and 35. They were last seen wearing neon long-sleeved shirts, white hard hats, dark pants, gloves, white face masks and goggles.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA ( 74782).
