The weekend of Ascension is also the return of crowded trains. SNCF has chartered 100 more to meet demand.

Between Wednesday May 25 and Sunday May 29, 1.6 million passengers are expected, 25% more than in 2021 for the Ascension Bridge, as much as 2019 and before Covid-19. SNCF has chartered 100 more trains and tickets have been snapped up, according to the company. At this point, one in three trains is full. The most popular weekend destinations are the Atlantic coast, the Mediterranean and Brittany.
