After a two-year hiatus due to Covid, the Lille sale returns. The streets of the city will once again smell of mussels, fries, beer and bargains. The official opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 3, at 8 a.m.

Friday, September 2, negotiations have already started in Lille (North). Professional junk dealers have been ready since 8 am. What to do some business, 24 hours before the official opening of the sale. The regulars do not complain about this extra day of clearance sale, after two years of absence. “We eat well, the people are friendly and there is everything. Me, I’m not looking for anything in particular, it’s at the stroke of heart”, sums up a woman.

Sylvia Debuchi is also preparing his fortieth sale, and the third for his grandchildren. This year, the sales manager is Sasha, 9 years old, still in training. “You shouldn’t let people negotiate so I won’t let them, but on the other hand, I don’t really know how to go about it”she testifies. And no Braderie de Lille without mussels and fries. A restaurant ordered more than a ton. It takes more than 200 covers per service.
