the opposition wants to seize the prosecutor after the release of a book on the “Rachline system”

The journalist and senior reporter at L’Obs Camille Vigogne Le Coat published an investigation where she reveals the “political-financial system” around David Rachline, RN mayor of Fréjus since 2014.

The showcase of the National Rally in Fréjus is shaken while mayor David Rachline is today singled out for his management of the town. Faced with these accusations, Julien Poussin, opposition municipal councilor in Fréjus (Union of Ecologists and the Left), announced that he would contact the public prosecutor.

“A system that we have known about for a long time”

According to the book by Camille Vigogne Le Coat, the management of the Var city is based on a principle of clientelism, particularly towards a construction giant. An aspect of which the Fréjus opposition group claims to be aware.

“Suspicions of small arrangements with Mr. Barbero on public markets with numerous gifts and envelopes in return, priorities for “native” French people and RN activists in the allocation of social housing, escapades in Saint-Tropez well beyond of the mayor’s emoluments, it’s a whole alleged system that the journalist denounces and of which we have been aware for a long time”, indicates Julien Poussin.

The journalist also points out the opulence and high-roller lifestyle of David Rachline, nicknamed “the Christmas tree”. It also mentions, according to Julien Poussin, “alleged acts such as Nazi salutes and anti-Semitic references”.

“The elements detailed on the 200 pages are particularly serious and call for responses from the justice system,” he concludes.

In a press release published after the release of the book, the city of Fréjus announced that it wanted to file a complaint for public defamation against the author and the publisher of Les Raptors. David Rachline came out of silence at the RTL microphone this Wednesday, November 15. “My lawyer is going to file a series of complaints, the number of which I can no longer even see, there are so many subjects,” assured the mayor.

“We are waiting to see if David Rachline will really file a complaint for defamation, which he did not do in January during his first press releases,” assured Julien Poussin.
