The controversy over Macron’s absence from the march against anti-Semitism took yet another turn when the Express said that the decision not to go there had been taken, among other consultations, after two advisors to the President received Yassine Belattar at the Elysée.
Controversial comedian, recently sentenced to four months in prison for death threats, Belattar was appointed by Macron to the Presidential Council of Cities in 2018, before resigning a year later amid controversy over the wearing of the veil, which he defended.
