Speaking time, posters, campaign clips: with the start of the official campaign on Monday 28 March, candidates and the audiovisual media are required to respect strict rules.
No more all-out interviews of the main candidates, while the others fight to grab a few minutes of air time. The speaking time of the twelve presidential candidates, from President Macron to the Lutte Ouvrière candidate Nathalie Arthaud, is now counted according to the principle of strict equality, each having the same airtime in the audiovisual media.
This is the case for campaign clips on radio and television, which France 24 will broadcast on its antenna and put online every day until midnight Friday April 8, the end date of the official campaign.
The first round of the presidential election takes place on Sunday 10 April. A second round is scheduled for Sunday, April 24.
