A teenager has died after police say two boys took turns shooting each other while wearing body armor.

Belleview Police say 16-year-old Christopher Leroy Broad Jr. died after being hit by a bullet while taking turns with Joshua Vining, 17, to shoot each other while wearing the armored vest April 3.

Police arrested Vining Thursday on a charge of manslaughter of a child with a firearm.

Investigators say 17-year-old Colton Whitler, who was initially interviewed as a witness to the shooting, misled officials with inaccurate information about what happened and who shot Broad Jr.

Whitler was also arrested on Thursday for providing false information to law enforcement.

Officers said Vining and Whitler were both charged as adults.
