Team USA amazed as Ken Griffey Jr. shows off his home run

MIAMI — Practice was over, the day ended Friday, but Team USA players immediately gathered around the batting cage, trying to see the biggest show of this World Baseball Classic.
It was American coaches Ken Griffey Jr. and Brian McCann playing a spontaneous home run derby.
“We knew something was wrong when we saw Griffey bring his own bat on the team bus,” Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout said. ” We hoped. We were begging. And then he did.”
Griffey, borrowing Trout’s batting gloves, played just one derby round at home and, on the final swing, his 10th, hit the right field seats at LoanDepot Park.
