A shocking report from a watchdog organization on Thursday revealed that a UN agency tasked with, among other things, educating Palestinian students in places like Lebanon, the West Bank and Jordan, employs teachers who promote the terrorism and the murder of Jews.

UN Watch, a Geneva-based NGO, found in its 49-page report that United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) computer science professor Nihaya Awad, who works in the West Bank, supported Hamas rocket attacks on Israeli civilians after last year’s war. The United States and the European Union have classified Hamas, the Sunni jihadist organization that controls the Gaza Strip, as a terrorist entity.

In an internet post, Awad wrote, “Greetings to the people of Gaza, blessed victory.” A second message written by Awad read “In the name of Allah, one victory after another, Palestine will be fully liberated.”

Awad “encouraged the exploitation of child soldiers by Palestinian terrorists, in a May 21, 2021 Facebook post,” UN Watch reported.

Awad released the nominations two months after an UNRWA director, Gwyn Lewis, praised Awad in a certificate of appreciation for his “fantastic efforts” as a “best performer” in UNRWA education. , according to the report.

“We are proud to have you as part of the UNRWA team,” Lewis wrote on March 23, 2021.

Hillel Neuer, Executive Director of UN Watch, said: “UNRWA should therefore be seen as complicit in the misconduct of its staff members. Around the world, educators who incite hatred and violence are fired. , systematically employs preachers of anti-Jewish hatred and terrorism.”

UN Watch documented 20 new examples in the report of UNRWA teachers and staff advocating terrorism and anti-Semitism in its school curricula.

An example from Lebanon, where the US-designated terrorist movement Hezbollah wields great control over the state, showed UNRWA Lebanon teacher Elham Mansour, posting on Facebook on May 11, 2022: By Allah, whoever can kill and massacre any Zionist and Israeli criminal, and does not do so, does not deserve to live. Kill them and pursue them everywhere, they are the greatest enemy… All Israel deserves is death.

Neuer said: “We call on the governments that fund UNRWA, as they gather at the United Nations to announce new commitments, to declare that they will stop allowing a system that teaches new generations of Palestinians to hate and to murder the Jews.

“The US, EU, Germany, UK, Canada and other donor states cannot morally send more money to UNRWA until it shows genuine commitment to basic standards of education in its schools,” he continued. “This means the agency must publicly condemn UNRWA employees who incite terrorism and anti-Semitism, remove them from their posts and create an independent and impartial investigation of all its staff.”

The United States and other predominantly Western states that fund UNRWA met on Thursday at the United Nations with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. They are expected to pledge additional funds to fund UNRWA.

In response to a request for comment from Fox News Digital, William Deere, acting director of the UNRWA office in Washington DC, noted that the report came out the same day of the UN meeting on the agency.

Deere noted in its emailed statement that “a well-known politically motivated organization is once again attempting to undermine the Agency’s vital humanitarian and human development work. UNRWA is an agency fully committed to upholding the principles and values of the United Nations and has zero tolerance of hate speech and incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence.”

He continued, “As we have said many times before, UNRWA takes all of these allegations seriously and is reviewing the new allegations, noting that they were not shared with UNRWA before they were made. public”.

Deere promised to act if wrongdoing is found to have occurred: “The Agency’s legal framework provides a process to investigate and act on potential instances of hate speech, incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, in accordance with the values and principles of the United Nations. found, UNRWA will take disciplinary action and the Agency’s Host and Donor Advisory Board will be informed of the results.”

David Bedein, director of the Center for Near East Policy Research and expert on the UNRWA program, told Fox News Digital that the Biden administration has made a positive move.

“The US government has issued an order to place all UNRWA funds in escrow because UNRWA will not change its program. The US has not backed down,” he said.

Bedein said, “UN Watch’s statement on the incitement of UNRWA teachers to murder Jews is factual, accurate and informative. UNRWA’s current curriculum prepares its students for all-out war against the Jews,” he said.
