The Los Angeles Lakers were denied a chance to play in the playoffs Tuesday night with a loss to the Phoenix Suns.

The team needed to win to stay afloat and at least make the No. 10 seed and get back into the play-in tournament, but suffered a big loss to Phoenix 121-110. The loss dropped the Lakers to 31-48 and 11th in the Western Conference.

“It’s nothing more than we just haven’t achieved,” Anthony said. “We can’t make excuses; we just haven’t succeeded.”

The Lakers have only made the playoffs twice since the 2013-14 season. Frank Vogel led the team to the Finals and defeated the Miami Heat in the coronavirus-hit season. The team lost in the first round of the playoffs last season.

“We had the parts, but injuries got in the way of that. That was the difference in our season,” Davis said.

Vogel’s job now looks threatened after three seasons in Los Angeles. According to Bleacher Report, the two teams are expected to go their separate ways once the season is over.

“I can say it wasn’t due to a lack of effort. We all worked. Our guys fought until the end. We showed integrity in the process. We just missed out. a disjointed season,” Vogel said. .
