Carson Strong threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns, the Nevada defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns and the Wolf Pack beat UNLV 51-20 on Friday night.

All-conference receivers Romeo Doubs and Cole Turner pulled off early touchdown passes as Nevada (6-2, 3-1 Mountain West) scored in their first four possessions. He completed assists to nine receivers.

Tight end Turner dove away from the tight cover for a 4-yard touchdown in the end zone as Nevada ran for 73 possession yards in five games. Doubs surged forward for a 28-yard scoreline and a 20-0 halftime lead.

Nevada held UNLV (0-8, 0-4) to 16 scrimmage games and four first-half punters before the Runnin ‘Rebels were outmaneuvered. UNLV have lost their last 14 matches.

Tyson Williams intercepted Cameron Friel on UNLV’s second game after halftime and pushed his way 49 yards for a touchdown, increasing Nevada’s lead to 27-0. Daiyan Henley made his choice with less than five minutes to go, returning 50 yards to score Nevada’s final points.

Friel, who completed 27 of 41 passes for 283 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions, shot a 23-yard dart at Kyle Williams, wide open in the middle of the end zone, to break the shutout.

Charles Williams added a four-yard touchdown for his 27th career rushing touchdown. Steve Jenkins made 12 catches for a top 133 yards and a touchdown.
