Shirley thought this was a fabulous way to open the show, and John was light with fabulous footwork. Anton thought John had done a brilliant job as a leader, but he wanted more balance as a follower. Craig thought it could have been a bit cleaner and less repetitive, but he loved the attack. Motsi thought they had done their best and that their ballroom was improving.

I really enjoy JoJo’s werewolves with ankle fog (DRINK). As expected, this is an extremely complex task and John does an outstanding job. A few gaping holes and it gets a bit bouncy in places, but a nice finish out of grip and a very solid effort. Good start to the show.

First up tonight… it’s John and Johannes!
This week they’re dancing the Quickstep to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Bad Moon Rising’. We will accept it as a rockabilly Halloween song. John’s superpower is his footwork, so I have high hopes for that.

Take out the judges!
Love Craig as Mad Hatter and Evil Motsi.
Take out the stars! Highlights include Aljaz in a mesh shirt and leather harness and … sorry, are there any other people?

WATCH TESS AND CLAUDIA DRESS!
Tess in a sexy vicar outfit, Claudia in sequins and powerful shoulders.

It’s a paid week, which means a bonus pro dance! The main thing seems to be that Craig is interviewing movie villains, who want to be a part of Strictly. So they do a dance to show them how nice and shiny they are. Still with me?
OK, so now Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio, and Hermione Grainger are entertained by all the bad guys in the movies, like Aladdin’s Jafar, Voldemort, Queen of Hearts, Joker, Maleficent, and Captain Hook. There is also a choir.
Mainly it’s pretty surreal, and if you’ve ever wondered what Hannibal Lecter would look like doing samba hips, now you know it. In the end, the good guys tie up all the bad guys, and then Neil (dressed as Pinocchio, in perhaps his best role ever) is chased by an evil clown. ALL SLEEP WELL.

Here we go ! Our celebrities pretend it’s all a little scary and weird, but that’s only Anton in a Scream Mask. The most terrifying thing is the acting.

Strictly Come This Week’s Halloween Binoooo
Take a sip of any evil concoction for any occurrence of the following:
A choice of song that has a tenuous link (at best) with Halloween.
Scary ankle fog
Fear wigs
Anton goes full “lots of stuff and lots of treats” Len Goodman
Dozens of Halloween

Heidi’s Halloween Hunches – a spooky update!
A few changes this week – Judi and Graziano are back in the final two, alongside Rhys and Nancy who have to crush tonight’s dance if they are to stay out of harm’s way. I also put Dan and Nadiya there, because they have a Jive and I’m afraid Dan’s legs get tangled. Sara and Aljaz are playing their Couple’s Choice joker this week, so unless they do a Michelle Visage, they’re safe in November.
Group 1: zombie walking towards the grand finale – AJ and Kai, John and Johannes, Rose and Giovanni.
Group 2: the macabre environment – Sara and Aljaz. Tilly and Nikita, Tom and Amy, Adam and Katya
Group 3: in serious danger – Judi and Graziano, Rhys and Nancy, Dan and Nadiya

It’s the Strictly Halloween Spooktacular!
Evening everyone! It’s scary and it’s crazy, mysterious and scary, it’s utterly weird, it’s strictly Halloween!
After a ghostly hiatus last year, the craziest batshit week of all is BACK in all its pumpkin-scalloped glory. Expect monstrous makeup, spooky costumes, and spooky footwork, all in the name of an ancient druid festival that no one quite understands. But whatever, not much else is happening this time of year.
The supernatural action begins at 7:10 pm live from Hellstree Studios and my front room, so grab your spookiest family members and a bucket of spooky snacks, and then I’ll see you!
