Stephen Colbert spotted a truly odd moment in a speech given by Kari Lake, the conspiracy theorist and Republican candidate for governor of Arizona who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
Lake said there was fraud in Tuesday’s primary ― before the vote even took place. Lake then claimed victory in the weirdest way possible: She said hardly any votes were counted, but she won seven out of 10 votes on Election Day.
“It’s huge! And those votes are not counted yet. There is no path to victory for my opponent, and we have won this race, period,” she said.
