Chelsea will be desperate to avoid a third loss on the rebound when they travel to face Southampton at the weekend.
The Blues’ form has dropped alarmingly since returning from the international break as they were thrashed 4-1 by Brentford on Saturday.
It put Chelsea back in the running to qualify for next season’s Champions League with fifth-placed Arsenal now just five points behind them.
Thomas Tuchel also saw his sides’ hopes of defending their European title take a huge hit in midweek after a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Southampton look destined for a mid-table finish this season.

Southampton v Chelsea: What was said?
Tuchel was asked if Chelsea’s grueling schedule was to blame for their recent dip in form.
He replied: “The calendar is very demanding because we played competitions until the very end.
“We are, I think with Liverpool, very far ahead in minutes played. In this period, in 2022, we have also played a lot of extra time, maybe two more games worth minutes.
“So when you play teams like Brenford, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, teams that aren’t involved in that many games, it’s a big challenge. But no need to make excuses.
“That’s how it is if you work and play for Chelsea. We can’t be comfortable accepting that it’s difficult. We have to understand that it’s difficult.
