Snoop Dogg reveals he wrote lyrics on a typewriter | Ents & Arts News

In his early days of writing raps, Snoop Dogg borrowed a typewriter to write his lyrics.

The American rapper revealed his unlikely writing instrument in an episode of The 85 South Comedy Show.

He told the hosts he used to borrow a typewriter from 2Scoops of G-funk band The Dove Shack.

Snoop Dogg said he tried to put his words on paper, but “I would lose my shit”.

Remarking that 2Scoops was “organized and shitty”, he concluded that he was “just going to type my shit”.

He added: “I used to type around 65 words per minute.”

His reveal prompted laughter and disbelief from the hosts, with one wondering “Snoop, you wrote raps on a typewriter?” and another commenting “This is hilarious”.

Snoop Dogg said he learned to type “at a little white high school I went to.”

“I was one of those students who – I took a wood class, a metal class, I took typing, I took home economics. I took classes that were as different.

“I didn’t just want to be in class with the homies and shit and then come home and have whooping cough and get in trouble.”

Snoop Dogg’s appearance on the show follows the release of Mount Westmore’s latest album, Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort. The group is made up of hip-hop veterans Too $hort, E-40, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg.

Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus Jr, revealed he had gave his full-time blunt roller a raise due to inflation.
