“Slaps on the back” to calm him down? A little boy found dead near Toulouse, his mother in police custody

The little body was mishandled. A three-year-old boy was found dead during the night from Wednesday to Thursday morning near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), the Toulouse public prosecutor informs us, confirming information from the Dépêche du Midi. An investigation into the murder of a 15-year-old minor has been opened. His 23-year-old mother and 20-year-old stepfather were taken into police custody.

Around 2 a.m., emergency services were called to take care of the little boy who was unconscious at the family home in Saubens, a town of just over 2,000 inhabitants, located about thirty minutes south of Toulouse. Despite attempts, the three-year-old could not be resuscitated.

Shots to calm “a nervous breakdown”?

According to a source close to the investigation, cited by AFP, the mother assured that the child was in the grip of “a nervous breakdown” and that she tried with her companion to calm him down “by backstabbing.”

An investigation was opened for murder and entrusted to the Muret gendarmes. An autopsy must be carried out this Thursday afternoon and should determine the exact causes of the death of the little victim.
