A tort complaint has been filed against former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a court in Albany, the state capital, a New York state courts spokesperson said Thursday.

Cuomo’s departure follows an investigation which found the Democrat sexually harassed 11 women and capped a remarkable fall from grace for a powerful politician once seen as a likely candidate for the White House.

“As this is a sex crime, a drafted complaint will be available shortly,” spokesman Lucian Chalfen said in an emailed statement.

Cuomo spokespersons were not immediately available for comment.

Cuomo stepped down as governor in August after ten and a half years in office.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said a five-month independent investigation found Cuomo engaged in conduct that violated federal and state laws.
