The concept, known as the EXPLORER, was first shown at the Monaco Yacht Show in September. The team explained that the design was inspired by the freedom a superyacht gives owners, but takes the idea to new heights – literally.

“In yacht building, multi-functional exploration vessels have now become a class of their own,” Wieland Timm, Lufthansa Technik’s sales manager for VIP and special mission aircraft services, said in a press release. hurry. “And many owners of such ships also call an aircraft their own.”

“Unlike a yacht, however, our EXPLORER aircraft allows passengers to travel to the other side of the globe in hours and establish their own individual base camp for other activities,” he continued. “This opens up completely new possibilities for explorers.”

Lufthansa Technik chose the Airbus Corporate Jet ACJ330 as the demonstrator for the design, but says the VIP concept can be modified for any widebody aircraft, such as the A350 or Boeing 787.
