Seaplane carrying 10 crashes near Seattle, at least 1 dead

A seaplane carrying 10 people crashed in Washington state on Sunday, killing at least one person, the US Coast Guard said in a statement.
Officials said the plane crashed just after 3 p.m. local time in Mutiny Bay, west of Whidbey Island, Washington. Nine adults and one child were traveling on the plane from the town of Friday Harbor en route to Renton, a suburb of Seattle.
Rescue teams found a body at the scene. Nine others are missing.
The Coast Guard said it doesn’t know what caused the incident. They said the plane was a de Havilland DHC-3 Otter, a single-engine propeller plane.
Rescue teams, including boats and a helicopter, searched the area. The Seattle Times added that there were only a few crews still searching late Sunday night, but additional crews would be deployed early Monday.
