Liverpool have been urged to react to Erling Haaland’s arrival at Manchester City by spending big in the summer transfer market.
The Reds have missed Pep Guardiola’s side by one point in the Premier League title race and will now have to start again next season.
Liverpool are still City’s closest rivals and, according to Jamie O’Hara, signing Haaland must prompt a reaction from Jurgen Klopp to ensure they can keep pace with the league leaders.

The Frenchman has revealed he spoke to Liverpool about a potential transfer before committing to Paris-Saint-Germain.
Mbappe infuriated Real Madrid by handing over his immediate future to the French champions and signing a new contract, but the Reds were also close to signing him – albeit quite briefly.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph: “We talked a bit, but not too much. We talked a bit. »
Mbappe added: “I spoke to Liverpool because it’s my mum’s favorite club, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you’ll have to ask her.
“They’re a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was at Monaco, I met them. They’re a great club.”
The Monaco midfielder is believed to have agreed personal terms with Liverpool and Real Madrid.
But unfortunately for the Reds, French journalist Julien Maynard tweeted: “Aurélien Tchouameni has chosen Real Madrid.
“It’s according to the Monegasque midfielder has already announced his departure to his teammates.”
However, Tchouameni himself told CNN: “It’s a good situation to be in […] But in the end, these are only social networks!
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has confirmed the club’s willingness to extend the superstar duo’s contracts.
Salah and Mane enter the final 12 months of their deals this summer, and the latter has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
“I would like to keep these conversations confidential, but obviously we have expressed our desire that they remain,” Werner told Athletic.
“Beyond that, I’ll leave that to Julian.”
Ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League final with Real Madrid, Salah confirmed he would be at the club next season anyway.
He said: “I’m staying next season for sure, that’s clear.”
Mane meanwhile was much more coy, telling Sky Sports News: “I’m going to answer the question [about my future] after the Champions League.
“I’m not saying yes or no, I will answer after the Champions League.”
Liverpool completed the signing of Carvalho earlier this week after agreeing a £7.7m deal with Fulham.
The 19-year-old was one of the best performers in the league, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight last term.
Fulham attempted to sign Carvalho on loan due to extensive competition from Liverpool for places in the attacking areas.
Still, Fabrizio Romano has revealed the Reds won’t let Carvalho leave as Jurgen Klopp soon sees him involved in the first team.
