Russian defense accuses Ukraine of launching strikes on the cities of Belgorod and Kursk – RT in French

The Russian defense spokesman accused Ukraine of carrying out attacks on the cities of Belgorod and Kursk. According to the governor of Belgorod, four people died and four others were injured, including a ten-year-old child.

During his briefing on July 3, Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that on the night of July 2-3 Ukraine had “carried out a deliberate strike using Tochka- U with cluster munitions and Tu-143 Reys drones on residential areas of Belgorod and Kursk”, two cities located in Russia, specifying that there was, according to him, “no military infrastructure” nearby .

“I want to emphasize that this missile strike was deliberately planned and was carried out against civilians in Russian cities,” he also said.

According to him, “Russian air defense systems destroyed in mid-flight the three Tochka-U ballistic missiles with fragmentation warheads launched by Ukrainian nationalists against Belgorod”, resulting in the fall of “debris from one of the destroyed missiles […] on a residential building.

He added that “Russian air defense systems also destroyed two Ukrainian Tu-143 Reys drones packed with explosives during their approach to Kursk.”

kyiv has not yet commented on the information.

Four dead and four injured, including a 10-year-old child, regional governor says

In the night, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, had reported on Telegram of a “series of loud noises” which had been heard.

Later in the day, in a video posted on the same social network, he explained that four people had been killed in these strikes and that four others had been injured, including a ten-year-old child.

Vyacheslav Gladkov went to the hospital to see the child’s injuries and said he suffered from a “concussion”, contusions on the level of “the eyeballs” and “minor abrasions on the face “. He said that the life of the young boy was, according to doctors, not in danger.

The governor of Belgorod also announced, still on Telegram, that 11 residential buildings and 39 houses had been damaged.

Belgorod Mayor Anton Ivanov told him on Telegram that 26 residential buildings and 46 houses had suffered damage.

Zakharova denounces a desire by kyiv to fuel “anti-Russian hysteria” by pushing Russia to retaliate

Reacting to this announcement in a video, the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zakharova said: “The goal of the kyiv regime is to target residential areas of cities with unguided weapons. […] We understand that these actions of the kyiv regime are not only coordinated with its Western supervisors, but are most likely initiated by them”.

“This is done, of course, to induce us to carry out retaliatory strikes of this type and fuel even more anti-Russian hysteria,” she criticized, pointing out that Russia had refrained from “taking such measures” but that “those who act[ai]go this way [devaient] know that if the provocations continue[ai]ent, they [auraient] troubles”.

This is not the first time that the Russian defense has accused Ukraine of wanting to carry out attacks on its soil. Already on April 1, Igor Konashenkov said that helicopters carried out a missile attack on a civilian storage facility for petroleum products on the outskirts of Belgorod, causing a huge fire. Ukraine then refused to comment on the information, while not publishing a denial.

On July 2, it was Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko who claimed that his army had shot down “three days” earlier missiles fired from Ukraine and whose targets were, according to him, in Belarus.
